Community Announcement:
Vacation Bible School Round-up at First Baptist
It’s Bible time in our town again. First Baptist Church, at the corner of Sebree and Idaho streets, will be teaming up with Baptist Youth Mission to bring an exciting and challenging youth program to Dillon.
The Bible School begins Monday August 3, at 9:00 a.m. for Kindergartners through 6th graders, and will continue through Friday, concluding with the Friday Night Award Program at 7:00 p.m.
Dramatized missionary stories, Bible lessons, singing, contests, games, and refreshments are a few of the exciting features.
One unique feature is the Teen Rally, which will be held in the evenings starting at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2nd through Thursday, August 6th. This year’s theme will be “Youth Alive.” Evangelist Buddy McNorton from Baptist Youth Mission will challenge the teens to live for God by bringing youth relevant messages from the Bible.
Parents are encouraged to enroll their children and teens, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus himself, “ . . . [allow] the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God” (Mark10:14).
Parents who would like to meet Evangelist Buddy McNorton and his family are invited to attend the annual Sunday School Picnic at Barretts pavilion on Sunday, August 2nd starting at 10:30 a.m. It will be a potluck, so bring a dish and join us for a fun and challenging time as our VBS Evangelist preaches the Word of God.
Help with transportation can be arranged by calling First Baptist Church. Each participant is encouraged to bring a Bible and a friend. For further Vacation Bible School or Youth Rally information call 683-4438 or 683-4998. You can also check out their church blog at www.fbcdillonmt.wordpress.com
