How do I have a saving, personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
1. Realize that your personal sins have separated you from a Holy God and that you are under God’s condemnation (Rom.3:23, 5:18). Read the Ten Commandments in Exodus chapter 20 to understand how much you have fallen short of keeping God’s law. Be honest!
2. Recognize God’s love for you even though you are a sinner. (John 3:16, Rom. 5:8, 6:23).
3. Accept that Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for your sin problem (John 14:6, 6:40).
4. Receive Jesus Christ as your Savior for the forgiveness of your sins (John 1:12, Rom. 10).
How do I have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ?
1. Commit yourself to the reading and study of the Bible, God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
2. Spend time in prayer talking to God about the circumstances of your life (Philip. 4:6-7).
3. Commit yourself to attend a Bible teaching church where Jesus Christ is honored as Lord and Savior (Hebrews 10:25).
4. Get involved in the ministry of your local church (1 Peter 4:10-11).
5. Tell others about your faith and trust in Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8).
6. Rely upon the grace of God, not your own efforts (2 Corinthians 9:8).
